ESTONIAN NATIONAL MUSEM
The Estonian National Museum’s new building was opened in 2016. This modern complex, taking inspiration from the former Soviet airfield in Raadi and Estonia’s turbulent past, now works as a cultural temple and monument to the history and aspirations of Estonian and other Finno-Ugric people. In addition to the exhibitions and collections, the museum building also hosts a modern conference centre and a beautiful restaurant overlooking the vast grounds.
WHITE HALL IN THE DOME CATHEDRAL
The White Hall, currently a part of the University of Tartu Museum, is situated in the old school room of the 14th century Dome Cathedral, which was repurposed in the 19th century as a University Library. This imposing medieval building, though mostly in ruins, sits at the top of Toome Hill, which once was a home to the ancient Estonian fortress as well as an episcopal castle and more recently, a 19th century university campus. Currently The White Hall, due to its central location and beautiful architecture, is frequently used for various events.
